Commercial Real Estate CyclistsCommercial Real Estate Cyclists (C.R.E.C.) wrapped up its third season in the Twin Cities helping kids in need get wheels of their own.

C.R.E.C. members recently volunteered at Free Bikes 4 Kidz Minnesota, cleaning and refurbishing bikes donated by the public that will eventually make their way to kids in need. C.R.E.C. ended the day with a $2,500 donation to the non-profit organization, whose mission is to help all kids ride into a happier, healthier childhood.

Created in 2021 by CBRE’s Ben Bastian and The Appraisal Group’s Kelsey Hornig, C.R.E.C. is a networking and community volunteer organization of Twin Cities-area professionals involved in all aspects of the commercial real estate industry. The organization hosts local monthly events including rides, skills clinics, overnight destination trips to locales like northern Minnesota and Leadville, Colorado, and community involvement opportunities.

With over 100 members from 77 different companies, the group is sponsored by a variety of local and national real estate companies.

“We started this group as an alternative to networking on the golf course for those of us that love to ride,” said Bastian. “Members have met and done business with other riders of the group that they wouldn’t have met otherwise. Having a common interest outside of work is key in our business.”

“With the growth in various cycling disciplines, including mountain biking, gravel riding, commuting and eBikes, we are excited for the opportunity to expand the C.R.E.C. network to encompass new chapters on a local and international level,” said Hornig.
