Recap: Amenitize & Thrive

October 10, 2019

NAIOP's Amenitize & Thrive program featured insights on how the attention on amenities is escalating across industry segments. Erin Fitzgerald, principal with Transwestern, detailed what the research is showing both within the Minnesota market and nationally. This included examples of local and national properties with recent amenity package upgrades, and those properties' increases in rent and occupancies post-upgrade.

Tom Hoffman, senior vice president with Colliers International, discussed the perspective that both landlords and tenants have with amenities and programming. Melissa Metzler, director of interiors and partner with ESG Architecture & Design, described what’s occurring across her work with hospitality, multi-family and the corporate workplace. Max Musicant, principal and founder with The Musicant Group, went into the investment and pay-off with amenity packages and programming, including tenant and community engagement.

Each of the four speakers provided their experiences with designing and delivering “experiential” real estate in today’s market, as well as amenities that are worth the investment and those that have been less impactful than the original intent.
