Competition Results

18th Annual University Challenge

Student teams from regional universities are charged with pitching a deal to potential investors that involves the most profitable yet feasible project that maximizes value while achieving the highest risk adjusted return.

The teams are asked to address a development plan, construction timeline, budget, pro-forma, leasing plan and schedule, financing plan and market analysis.

The Site

This year's site is the former Nicollet Avenue Kmart, owned by the City of Minneapolis.

Teams will assume that the City of Minneapolis will complete and pay for all demolition on the site and then subsequently reconnect Nicollet Avenue prior to the developers taking ownership of the property. The two new parcels this will create will be shovel-ready sites.
