Recap: Economic Risks & Opportunities for Commercial Real Estate

March 13, 2018

NAIOP continued its 2018 educational programming with insights on economic risks and opportunities from Kevin Depew, Deputy Chief Economist for RSM. Kevin delivered his outlook on manufacturing and industrial production as well as service spending, housing, and employment. For commercial real estate topics, he discussed flat cap rates; continued office market growth, though at a slower pace; retail remaining under pressure with the shift toward experiential delivery; and multifamily having reached its peaked last year.

Kevin emphasized that the Minneapolis-St. Paul outlook was for the strong economy to continue, influenced by the exceptionally low unemployment, high labor force participation, and high median incomes.
