2009 Recipients:
Andy Manthei & Mark Reiling
This year, NAIOP Minnesota is proud to honor two individuals, Andy Manthei and Mark Reiling as its 2009 Volunteers of the Year.
Andy Manthei
As chair of the 2009 golf committee, operating in a challenging market, Andy worked diligently with his committee to produce a sold-out and extremely successful golf event. Challenged by the NAIOP Minnesota board to set a new record for event proceeds, Andy and his committee were able to significantly exceed the budgeted net income. This result was paramount as all golf event proceeds were donated to NAIOP Minnesota’s charitable partner Hope for the City. Andy's ability to coordinate between his committee, the many event sponsors and the course to create an event that exceeded expectations was impressive, all while maximizing use of his volunteer committee and efficiently using NAIOP resources.
Mark Reiling
A long-time volunteer with NAIOP Minnesota, Mark has consistently been a tremendous advocate for and asset to NAIOP through his years of service at different levels. Mark has served multiple terms on the board of directors and in 2009 volunteered on the program committee as well as the public policy Nexus Project task force. On the program committee, in 2009 Mark made significant contributions to positively influence the design of several key programs. In addition, he was the lead coordinator and moderator for the timely program on foreclosures. Mark has continually lobbied for NAIOP causes, and as owner of Towle Real Estate Company and a shareholder of Colliers Turley Martin Tucker, Mark has always supported the chapter’s Penny-Per-Square-Foot fund through his company’s managed properties. He is a positive promoter of business and commercial real estate, has served as a mentor to NAIOP Minnesota’s developing leaders segment as well as a mentor to many in the industry.
