This year is NAIOP Minnesota’s 14th annual University Challenge, where universities compete to win the best conceptual plan for a site in the Twin Cities.
Six student teams will present their concepts for the highest and best use of the site to the judges. At the 4 pm program, the three finalists will then present to the NAIOP audience and the 2017 champion will be crowned.
NAIOP is partnering with the Mall of America and Triple Five on this year's site, the former Thunderbird Motel site, now known as the Gateway.
The site includes access to the Mall of America, one the of the top tourist destinations in the country. The four parcels total 13.09 acres and are situated at the intersection of 494 and 24th Avenue South in Bloomington.
Its close proximity to metro transit (including both bus and light rail) and placement within the city of Bloomington means a highly-connected and desirable destination to work, live, and play!
